About the Alliance
The September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance, founded in 2001 and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 2009 (EIN 32-0237505), develops and champions the 9/11 National Memorial Trail — a multi-use route of more than 1,500 miles linking the three September 11th memorial sites: the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, and the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The trail passes through 7 states and the District of Columbia, connecting communities, national parks, and partner trails along the way.

The September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance is the authority responsible for defining and championing the official route of the federally designated trail, established by H.R. 2278, enacted as Public Law 117-48 on October 13, 2021. The maps on this page show that route as currently designated, and are updated as the route develops.
