Adams County Honors the Alliance with 25th Anniversary Proclamation
The September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance is honored to receive a proclamation from the Adams County Commissioners recognizing the upcoming Gettysburg Loop Tour and the Alliance’s work to preserve the legacy of September 11, 2001.
Signed on September 30, 2026, the proclamation recognizes October 23–25 as a period to honor the Alliance and welcome cyclists traveling through Adams County. The planned ride includes a two-day stop in historic Gettysburg, with opportunities for participants to explore Gettysburg National Military Park, the WWII American Experience Museum, and other local attractions.
The proclamation celebrates the 9/11 National Memorial Trail as a living memorial that preserves the stories and legacy of September 11, 2001, while creating opportunities for education, recreation, and community connection. The 1,500+ mile route links the three national memorial sites in New York City, at the Pentagon, and at Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania.
For the Alliance, this recognition reflects the vital role local communities play in carrying remembrance forward. Each community along the Trail offers another opportunity to honor those lost, recognize the courage of those who responded, and help younger generations understand the lasting significance of September 11.
The Alliance extends its sincere thanks to Adams County Commissioners Randy L. Phiel, James E. Martin, and Mark A. Clowney for this meaningful recognition and for welcoming the Trail’s cyclists to Adams County.
