Days 18 & 19 | June 30 - July 1 | Portland, PA → Haskell → Mahwah, NJ 🚴🇺🇸 Final push before Ground Zero! Day 18 began with a fire department escort safely down the mountain before cyclists tackled the rolling hills of western New Jersey, including a memorable 3.5-mile climb through Sparta. By day’s end, riders had logged nearly 58 miles and more than 3,400 feet of climbing. On Day 19, the pace slowed but the significance grew as cyclists visited several 9/11 memorials throughout northern New Jersey while navigating busy roads and summer heat. With nearly 900 miles completed, the team is now just one day away from reaching the @911memorial. Never Forget!

Day 17 of the 9/11 National Memorial Trail Tour | June 29 |Allentown → Delaware Water Gap 🚴 Battling the summer heat, the day began with miles along the Lehigh Parkway, Canal Park, the @dlnhc, and the Karl Stirner Arts Trail before cyclists were greeted at the Buss Street Trailhead in Plainfield Township for a special Meet the Cyclists event hosted in partnership with @wastemanagement. Alliance Board Chair Matt Harris joined community members in welcoming the riders, along with Alliance Board Member Adrienne Fors who was instrumental in organizing this special welcome for these cyclists. Thank you, Adrienne, and everyone at WM for the continued partnership and support of the 9/11 National Memorial Trail. The journey continued with a police escort through town before riders were welcomed into Delaware Water Gap with an escort from local first responders, capping off another memorable day on the Trail.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from the Alliance 🇺🇸 As our nation celebrates its 250th birthday, we’re reminded that the story of America is one of resilience. That spirit is woven throughout the 9/11 National Memorial Trail. While the Trail connects the three national 9/11 memorial sites, it also passes through places that have shaped our nation’s history, including Gettysburg, Valley Forge, and countless communities where the American story continues to unfold. Today, we celebrate the freedoms we cherish, remember those who have defended them, and reflect on the enduring strength that has carried our nation through every chapter of its history. The Alliance wishes all a safe, meaningful, and happy Fourth! Learn more about the Trail and plan your journey at 911trail.org
