9/11 Trail – PA Statewide Tour
Come and explore the beautiful state of Pennsylvania by joining the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance on an enthusiastic journey across the state. Commencing in Pittsburgh, PA on June 19th, the tour will take cyclists southeast along the 9/11 Trail alignment and end in Philadelphia on July 3rd, with a featured highlight being a visit to the Flight 93 National Memorial on Day 5.
Accommodation for each night has been organized in double occupancy hotel rooms with another tour participant. On most nights cyclists will be responsible for catering their own dinner, however 9/11 Trail volunteer guides will have organized dinner options at local restaurants for all participants. Additionally, The Alliance will have a shuttle on hand to transport supplies from one destination to the next. There are two registration options for those interested in participating – the full two week tour, a week tour (either from Pittsburgh to Harrisburg OR Harrisburg to Philadelphia). Fundraising for the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance is the main goal of this statewide tour. In addition to the $250 entry fee, the Alliance is requesting each participant to contribute an additional $1,000 for the one-week tour and $2,000 for the two-week tour. This extra donation can be made or fundraised through the tour's registration page. Proceeds from the ride will support the Trail's ongoing efforts to create and maintain a 1,300-mile, multi-use trail connecting the three locations impacted by the events of 9/11.
