Recent photos from the ongoing construction in Somerset County, PA Construction Update: Somerset CountySomerset County, in partnership with the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance and other stakeholders, is nearing completion of the first 1.5miles of the 20 mile connection between the Great Allegheny Passage and the Flight 93 National Memorial, the first purpose built section of the September 11th National Memorial Trail (9-11 NMT). The new trail construction features an on-road segment that will be completed next spring accompanied by a section of off-road, new trail construction. This segment of the 9-11 NMT leaves the Great Allegheny Passage in the Borough of Garrett and travels Lafayette and Walker Streets through the borough before entering a former CSX Railroad right-of-way which will take the trail to Berlin, PA, and then on to the Flight 93 National Memorial. The September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance is thrilled with the progress and thankful for our partnership with Somerset County and all the stakeholders involved. We look forward to seeing the on-road segment of the trail completed in the spring of 2021 and our ongoing partnership with Somerset County on the continued development of the connection to the Flight 93 National Memorial in the very near future.

I write with much interest as the Burkholder covered in is along that trail..I love to see a connection to it without cyclists having to dodge 219 traffic

As of 19 June 21, is the trail from Garret (on the Great Allegheny Passage) to the Flight 93 Memorial now complete and open for bicycle travel?
