Trail Access

In Newark, the 9/11 National Memorial Trail passes through northern Delaware as it links the Philadelphia region with communities along the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal corridor. Approaching from the northeast, the route follows a combination of bike-friendly roads and shared-use paths before entering Newark near the University of Delaware campus. Within the city, the memorial trail connects with portions of the East Coast Greenway, which overlaps with the 9/11 National Memorial Trail through parts of northern Delaware. From Newark, the route continues southwest toward the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal region and neighboring Maryland communities.
