President Biden signed H.R. 2278 in Oval Office, designating the trail 'a trail route linking the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, and the Flight 93 National Memorial.'
The September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance is thrilled to announce that on October 13, in the Oval Office, the President signed H.R. 2278, bipartisan legislation to designate the 9/11 National Memorial Trail. The 1,300-mile trail route links the National September 11th Memorial and Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, VA, and the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, PA.
The 9/11 Trail is proud of the bipartisan contributions to the passing of H.R. 2278. In July, the bill passed 423-0 in the House of Representatives, and with unanimous consent in the Senate on October 1. The signing of this bill by the President is a monumental step in our vision of developing a trail that provides our country with a beautiful symbol of our nation’s resiliency and will serve as a commemorative tribute to the fallen heroes of September 11, 2001.
