Brett Hollern has worked on various aspects of the Great Allegheny Passage since being hired as a Planner by the County of Somerset in 1997. In 1999, he took a position as the Trail and Greenways Coordinator, working for the Allegheny Trail Alliance and the County of Somerset under the Pennsylvania DCNR Circuit Rider Program, expanding his responsibilities on the project. In 2004, Brett became the Trail Manager for the Somerset County, continuing to oversee the planning, construction and operation of the 42 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage owned by the County.
Brett graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Recreation and Park Management. Brett also works as an independent consultant on projects involving trail feasibility and development. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Christine and his children Kate and Ben and their two dogs. He enjoys outdoor pursuits including mountain biking, hiking, and skiing.
