Re: Support for the September 11th National Memorial Trail

To preserve the memories of the people who sacrificed in defending freedom on September 11, 2001, the National Trail Memorial Alliance, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization (, is pleased to share with you our mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Those objectives are focused on creating and maintaining a 1,300-mile multi-use trail that connects the New York City National September 11 Memorial and Museum, the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, PA, and the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, VA.

The Trail will serve as a catalyst for economic development by encouraging recreational and educational tourism in Maryland, New Jersey, New York,   Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, DC. Currently, more than 50% of the Trail is off-road, and we have been partnering with federal, state, county and local officials on 14 projects to connect more than 30 trails.

To maximize the potential of the September 11th National Memorial Trail, we need your support. Therefore, in the coming weeks and months, we will be asking you to help us connect bicycle, pedestrian and off-road trails to create a single Trail of remembrance comprised of communities, memorials and other places of remembrance.

Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to working with you on this noble undertaking.
