Stephen Tanzilli, J.D.


Stephen Tanzilli, J.D. is Dean of the Rowland School of Business at Point Park University. Under Tanzilli’s leadership the school developed one of the most innovative practical based educational models in the country. Tanzilli also co-founded the Sports, Arts & Entertainment program (SAEM) at Point Park University in 2002. He has grown SAEM’S enrollment to close to 300 students. During his tenure, he has been responsible for curriculum development, assessment/accreditation, fundraising, execution of workshop/symposium programs, internship procurement and has established the program’s own record label.

Tanzilli was named Chair of the Department of Management in 2014 where he worked to establish the first cooperative educational partnership for a school of business in the region, re-structured the school of business core curriculum, met assessment requirements, developed numerous study abroad programs and created new innovative educational programs.

Prior to joining Point Park University, specializing in sports management, Tanzilli ran his own sports talent agency called Sports Legends Group, a full-service marketing, finance and law firm for professional athletes and celebrities for the past 10 years. Tanzilli has worked with players from the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as other high profile clients. His background also includes 12 years of experience with 141 Worldwide Sports and Entertainment where he worked in close contact with high-end clients on a daily basis such as Coca-Cola, 84 Lumber, Sunoco, TOPPS, ESPN, and Kraft Foods. In addition, Tanzilli has worked with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Johnston Steel Baseball Club, International Sports Marketing, and Communicator Sports Marketing. He has served as director of marketing for the Pittsburgh Triathlon for 7 years.

Tanzilli holds a law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Business Degree from Duquesne University.
