SEPTEMBER 11 TH NATIONAL MEMORIAL TRAIL RIBBON CUTTING FLIGHT 93 TO THE GREAT ALLEGHENY PASSAGE
September 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM
The September 11 th National Memorial Trail Alliance with support from the Flight 93 National Memorial, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Somerset County, and a host of other partners cordially invites you to attend the ribbon cutting for the 21-mile 9/11 Trail segment between Flight 93 National Memorial and the Great Allegheny Passage at Garrett, Pennsylvania. The event will take place at the Flight 93 National Memorial at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
This strategic connection will provide a user-friendly cycling/hiking route from the Flight 93 National Memorial to Pittsburgh in the north using the Great Allegheny Passage, or to the Pentagon Memorial in the south via the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal Towpath.
Attached you will find the Flight 93 Memorial parking map. Additionally, there will be a bicycling ride from Flight 93 to Garrett immediately after the ribbon cutting. This ride will provide an on-the- route examination to determine where route changes or improvements should be considered.
As the number of cyclists is limited, please let us know of your interest in joining the ride. A map of the route is attached.
