Thank you for visiting the September 11th National Memorial Trail Alliance website. The September Eleventh National Memorial Trail is a 1,300-mile multi-purpose trail routed on trails and roadways through Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. With your help the trail will become an unbroken non-motorized trail and greenway connecting New York City’s National September 11 Memorial, the Nation 9/11 Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia and the Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The September 11th National Memorial Trail is dedicated to the people who were lost and to our country’s resilience and perseverance in the name of freedom on September 11, 2001 and the years after.
We hope that you will join ad support our organization as we partner with the National Park Service and state and local governments as well as with our many friends such as the East Coast Greenway, the Great Allegheny Passage, and the C&O Canal. The “9/11 Trail” overlays the East Coast Greenway from New York to Virginia; the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal National Historical Park from Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C.; and the Liberty Water Gap Trail across New Jersey. It will also connect with those historic and cultural points of interest which reflect the theme of our trail, all the time promoting an abundance of tourism, economic and health benefits.
Our trail is for all ages and experiences; be it for an afternoon with the family or through- hiking the entire route. We thank you for your support in making the September 11th National Memorial Trail one of the great long-distance trails for all to experience.
Come join our effort.
